The Interplay of Light and Shadow
Griffinwyn is known for producing fine stonework and jewelry, and for training superior Griffon Riders. High in the Stone Club mountains, no enemy has ever breached the walls of Griffinwyn.
Next to Vertvale, Griffinwyn has the longest history of elected leadership. There are three ruling positions in Griffinwyn, the Head who is elected by the citizenry at large, the Fist who is elected by the military, and the Eye who is elected by the craftsmen. The Head runs the day to day affairs of the city, the Fist has precedence over the military and the Eye is given the power of the purse. Each holds his position for 3 years, such that there is an election for one of the positions every year.
Citizenship for purposes of voting for the Head is determined by bloodlines. If one or more of your ancestors was a citizen of Griffinwyn, then you are entitled to citizenship. The only way to become a citizen if you are not born one is by unanimous decision by the Head, Fist and Eye.
