The Interplay of Light and Shadow
Thanis Burrow is a large graveyard on the border with Pyron. During the early reign of Dinmok Banetorque, the second King, the southern boundary of the country was the Grey Kings. Feeling the need for more space, Dinmok began raiding the Pyronic villages just beyond that border. Eventually this led to war. The war culminated in a series of battles along what is now the border between the two countries. Many of the magics used during those battles still linger, and it was deemed unwise for any of the fallen to be removed from the battlegrounds. Thus the fallen were buried where they lay. As part of the treaty that ended the war and set the new boundary, both kingdoms were obligated to maintain a watch on the Burrow. In the last several centuries, both kingdoms have become lax in that duty.
